[2026/09/10], 11:15 – Understanding the brain before intervening: a scientific and automated approach to the analysis of EEG, ERP and microstates

Content
The session presented an evidence-based approach that starts from the qEEG recording and combines three complementary perspectives on brain activity:
- frequency spectra (frequency signature and self-organisation)
- event-related potentials (ERPs: information processing from P1/N1 to the CNV)
- microstates (millisecond-scale topographies that act as a fingerprint of cognitive states)
These are complemented by three state modulators, arousal, vigilance and sensitivity, which determine the brain’s operating conditions. The information obtained in this way helps to refine the diagnosis and to tailor therapeutic treatment to the individual.
