«Looking more closely — helping more precisely»: under this motto the Brain and Trauma Foundation Grison looks back on 2025 — a year of deepening and differentiation. In social integration, job coach Angelica Tuor carried the «La Cumpogna» programme forward with great personal commitment and opened the way into the primary labour market for people with special needs. Working with the school in Landquart, civilian service staff made intensive day-to-day support possible for children with special needs — a form of inclusion that works.

In research the foundation took an important conceptual step: from the breadth of individual findings to their consolidation within a clearly defined diagnostic frame in which vigilance and arousal emerge as the central dimensions. The paper by Gian Candrian, Ilia Pershin, Maryam Rostami, Manuela Ackeret and Andreas Müller in the International Journal of Psychophysiology describes, for the first time, distinct vigilance trajectories in children with and without ADHD; a further paper on the gender dependence of pauses is close to publication. Four research projects from 2025 — on neurofeedback, on the neurophysiological differentiation of ADHD and depression, on sensitivity, and on vigilance in everyday working life — are presented in detail in the report. The family support project FOKUSS entered its main phase, and the Biomarker Workshop of 11 December 2025 in Zurich reached a new high with 300 participants. The annual report 2025 shows vividly how the foundation brings together neurobiological precision, holistic understanding and human closeness.
